October is Awesome! The leaves changing and the last of the truly warm days. Crisp afternoons watching football, kids’ soccer, baseball playoffs, WNBA finals. The roiling lake. October is also the birth month of luminaries such as Snoop Dogg, John Lennon, Bob Ross, Gandhi, Kelly Ripa, Amy Zimmerman, and Lexi Naples.
We eased back into fall programming in September, but then had a blowout event with our Max Sansing mural dedication. I hope you were there to hear DJ Purple spin House tracks, hear Frederick Dunson, executive director of the Frankie Knuckles Foundation, tell the history of House Music and its importance to the community, and learn about Gherkin Records across the street at 916 W. Buena. If you missed it, mosey on by and See Under One Roof anytime and every time you are passing our parking lot, and pick up our brochure for a self-guided tour of all the wonderful art in the building.
